Black History and Culture Tour

The story behind Fort Greene has deep roots in Black history and culture—and when you join The Black History & Culture of Fort Greene Tour, you’ll get a personal, on-the-ground look at this important historical context. We work together with our local tour guide, Suzanne Spellen, and our Tour Committee to develop and refine the tour route and educational content to help retell this important history to small groups of 5 to 40 attendees. And we put in the work to make this experience memorable and special, because this is a history that doesn’t just impact Fort Greene Park—it impacts Brooklyn, New York, and the rest of the world.
