There are so many incredible people at the heart of Fort Greene Park’s history—which is why we’re proud to help organize Community Heroes, a project founded by Jasmin Chang and Zac Martin to help document everyday neighborhood heroes.
In honor of National Poetry Month in April, the Fort Greene Park Conservancy hosts an afternoon to celebrate poetry. Join us as we build bridges to connect the next generation of poets in Fort Greene Park.
The story behind Fort Greene has deep roots in Black history and culture—and when you join The Black History & Culture of Fort Greene Tour, you’ll get a personal, on-the-ground look at this important historical context.
Spend a fun, family-friendly day celebrating and caring for the earth. Participate in crafts, games, and workshops to show your appreciation for the world that sustains us.
Join us on the Myrtle Lawn for our Language Access Series, which showcases a Chinese or Spanish language film for Fort Greene’s Taishanese and Chinese-speaking residents to enjoy.

Get ready to listen to soulful sounds at the park! The Fort Greene Park Jazz Festival was developed by Eric Frazier from a longstanding dream to have a Jazz Festival in his own neighborhood park.
Join the dance party this summer! The Soul Summit Music Festival is an event that takes place in Fort Greene Park in Brooklyn on Sunday afternoons, 3pm-8pm during the summer.
Learning Through Nature
CONSERVANCY-LED EVENTS
Taking care of the park is an all-hands effort, and that includes The Green Team: a diverse group of young people between the ages of 14 and 19 who spend their free time learning how to mitigate—and even potentially resolve—the environmental harms and public health risks to Fort Greene Park.
Calling all nature lovers between the ages of 6 and 13! Young Naturalists is a youth-led program for children and teens to share and grow their knowledge about the world around them using Fort Greene Park as their classroom.

If you ever wonder who to call when you spot a wounded bird or who to ask about that strange little bug you spotted on your favorite tree, look no further than Urban Park Rangers.
Promoting Wellness
CONSERVANCY-LED EVENTS
The Community Wellness Team is a group of peer specialists – people with lived experience who have been trained to support others who struggle with mental health, psychological trauma, or substance use - managed by our partner Services for the Underserved (S:US).
PARTNER-LED EVENTS
Join Shala Yoga in Fort Greene Park, on the lawn south of the monument for Yoga in the Park. This class is vinyasa-style, meaning we blend breath and movement to help stabilize the mind and strengthen and stretch the body.
