Learn About Our Green Infrastructure Project
After being here for two years, we've seen firsthand the importance of preserving our park's natural resources. This year’s green infrastructure project marks the second time we’ve taken efforts to enhance the park's beauty and sustainability. It's going great!
Our green infrastructure project on the west side of the park aims to stop soil erosion by planting stabilizing plants and using special structures. Soil is incredibly important for supporting life on Earth. It helps plants grow by providing essential nutrients and water, and stores carbon, which helps to fight climate change. It's home to a lot of different organisms and helps filter water, keeping it clean for plants and animals. Even though soil can be renewed, it takes a long time to form. That's why it's crucial to protect it. Our Green Team project not only helps the environment but also makes the park look nicer for everyone to enjoy!
