Black History and Culture Tour of Fort Greene

In honor of the 50th Anniversary of Hip Hop and the many contributions of the Black Community to Fort Greene, join us for a special walking tour with neighborhood activist and architectural historian Suzanne Spellen. Join us to see where everything from Lil Kim's old crib to Spike Lee's 40 Acres and a Mule are located in the neighborhood. Register here.

This edition of the Black History and Culture Tour of Fort Greene is a part of The Lay Out Juneteenth ‘23. Learn more about The Lay Out's 4th Annual Juneteenth Celebration: “Straight Joy. No Chaser.” here.

The Black History and Culture Tour of Fort Greene is an initiative of the Fort Greene Park Conservancy and Myrtle Avenue BID developed in partnership with BlackSpace, the Future Historical Society at BRIC, MoCADA, The Lay Out, Council Member Crystal Hudson, and the Weeksville Heritage Center.
