Queerly Beloved: Pride Shorts in the Park

Join us on the Myrtle Lawn for a Queerly Beloved: Pride Shorts in the Park. Celebrate NYC Pride with an illuminating showcase of LGBTQIA+ stories from around the world. RSVP is encouraged but not required for entry. Seating is first come, first served.

1. AC Unit by Grace Godvin | US | 13 min

Welcome to AC Unit, a comedic short film about one of New York’s most important and relatable concerns: what if my air conditioning unit were to fall out of my window and kill someone?

2. Pentola by Leo Černic | Italy | 7 min

“It’s not so easy to be a hero. But you, Pentola, you are my superhero.”

3. Will You Look At Me by Shuli Huang | China | 20 min

As a young Chinese filmmaker returns to his hometown in search for himself, a long due conversation with his mother dives the two of them into a quest for acceptance and love.

4. Troy Jen Silverman | US | 16 min

Troy has loud sex. Troy has loud sex 24/7. Troy shares a wall with Thea and Charlie. Troy is ruining their lives… Or is he saving them?

5. An Avocado Pit by Ary Zara | Pierre | 20 min

Larissa, a trans woman and Cláudio, a cis man, meet one night, in the streets of Lisbon. Two people, two realities, who dance their differences away till morning light. In challenge, in surprise, in awe and in recognition. An empowering story, free from violence and filled with light and hope for the better days yet to come.

6. Wüm by Anna Margaret Hollyman | US | 13 min

Bennett, a nonbinary new parent, joins a Mommy Group called "Wüm." What is supposed to be a supportive space turns into a Hipster-Stepford-Wife nightmare with Bennett being smothered by white lady wokeness.
